Boat Service

Our clean, heated shop buildings are fully equipped to perform any engine and outdrive related repairs. Our trained staff is familiar with systems and engines on everything from runabouts to motor yachts.

We can handle just about any boating service needs, including:

• light carpentry
• mechanical
• electrical (ABYC Certified Tech)
• plumbing (2 ABYC Certified Techs)
• sanitation (2 Dometic/Sealand Certifed Techs)

All work is performed to American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC) standards and practices. We are an ABYC Certified Facility with an ABYC Master Tech on staff.

Engines and Outdrives

We also offer factory authorized, quality service and repairs on all brands of inboard engines and outdrives including Premier level warranty service for Mercruiser Engines and Sterndrives and certified service for Volvo Penta Engines and Drives (regardless of where the boat was purchased).

If you are tired of getting the runaround and waiting for warranty service from your selling dealer…..bring your boat to us. We are happy to do your engine and outdrive warranty work and there is no charge for your haulout!

Authorized State Trailer Inspections and Repairs

We are an authorized Maryland State Trailer Inspection Station for all trailers up to 10,000 lbs. (single and tandem axle trailers with and without brakes). With nearly  20 years combined experience, our trained inspectors can check out your boat or utility trailer, and even your camper! If your trailer needs repairs, we can handle it all right here. Most common parts are in stock for fast turnaround.

From lights and wiring to hubs and brakes, electric or surge, we can make your trailer safe for the road.

INSPECTIONS

Any trailer without brakes: $45.00

Single or Tandem Trailer with single-axle brakes: $80.00

Each additional axle w/ brakes: $45.00 each

Inspections are performed Monday through Friday.  Drop it off at your convenience and pick it up the very next day. Best of all, you can keep your boat on its trailer; just bring it in with a copy of the title or registration.

Service Warranty Policy

We want to keep your boating experience pleasant and hassle-free. Therefore, at Sunset Harbor, we use only OEM parts so we can offer a 6-month, 100% parts and labor warranty on every Mercruiser and Volvo Penta engine and sterndrive repair. Best of all, we do not charge for haulout for any sterndrive repair.
