Welcome to Sunset Harbor’s new “Direct-to-tech” service blog. We invite our customers and future customers to use this resource for questions about your Mercruiser engine & outdrive, your Volvo engine & outdrive, or your REGAL boat.

Our technicians are factory trained and certified and happy to answer your general questions. While this is not intended solely as a troubleshooting resource, we will do our best to keep you on-the-water.

  This blog will be monitored by Auggie, our lead tech, at Sunset Harbor. He is a very talented, experienced Mercruiser & Volvo Tech.

      I second Craig’s comment on Augie.
      Great mechanic – I should know!!!! Have spent my fair share on maitenance/repairs over the last 10 years there.

  Congratulations to our tech, Auggie, on his ABYC Electrical Certification!

  The American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC) is the organization that establishes recommended Standards and Practices for the recreational marine industry.

  They offer a variety of specific Certification classes that are very intense and challenging.

  Auggie scored significantly higher than the National and State averages.

  Just one more “trophy for his case”.

  Here’s a tip for everyone…..

  Don’t forget to use a fuel additive EVERY time you fuel up this year. The Ethanol-enhanced fuel in Maryland can be devastating to your engine and fuel system.

  We use and recommend PRI-G. It is a concentrate and treats 256 gallons per pint. Having used it for six years, we know it works as a winter fuel stabilizer but ALSO as an ethanol treatment!!
